Armenian beach women’s handball team currently stays at the rest home “Maria” in Sevan which besides night shelter and food opportunity has also good conditions – playgrounds for trainings. Beach handball well-known Serbian specialist Sasha Kuborovich helps the team to prepare for the European Beach Handball Championship under 18, which is to take place in Batumi. Kuborovich met Armenian women’s handball team in the gym of Armenian State Institute of Physical Training on June 27 and left for Sevan with the team the next day.

For the first time Armenian representatives are going to participate in European Beach Handball Championship under 18, on July 5, in Batumi. Our team is in B group and will compete with Sitzerland, Russian and Turkey teams.

Armenia and more than ten countries applied to the International Handball Federation asking to reconsider age limit in Challenge Trophy Competition. As it is known, a decision was made that players under 23 are allowed to take part in the tournament. There are qualified players above 23 in Armenia who are now deprived of playing. Armenian Handball Federation Chief Secretary Anna Melqonian took part in the Extended Session of International Handball Federation in Basel, Switzerland, where handball federation representatives of 18 countries were present.

Armenian Women’s Beach handball team under 18 held two meetings and took part in international competitions in Georgia, 2011.  And this year our team will officially make their first steps in The European Championship League that will be held in Batumi.  8 participant teams are divided into 2 subgroups.  Armenian players are in group B and are to play against Switzerland then Russian and Turkey teams. Hungary, Ukraine, Norway and Georgia are in group A.
